Ronald De Bedlum

Of Masks and Men

In the streets of Old Bedlow, Ronald De Bedlum is a known thief, liar, con artist, murderer and madman.

What few know is that he is also a sorcerer of some renown.

The British museum in the world of “Gate” harbours some of the most sought after artefacts of the Mystical world, some even from over “the other side”.

Ronald has managed the impossible. He has robbed the British Museum.

Rumour has it he has stolen the fable Mask of Fortunes, a beautiful piece of Chinese art in its own right it is believed that in the hands of the wise it can allow someone to see the Fate of others.

The race is on, why does Bedlum want it? Is it for sale? Can he be caught and brought to justice. Has he some other mad plan afoot one for which the Mask is but a component?

Only two things are certain:

1 – Ronald De Bedlum has fled to the Forest Argent

2 - There is a bounty on his head, a bounty on the mask and a mystery to be uncovered.

This is a Forest Argent event set with players from the “Gate” world in mind.

The style is flintlock and frock coat, Victorian Fey and terrible beasties!

To Kyber With Style!

An 1809 Event (1809 is a “what if” England that has glaring differences in technology, ranging SteamJacks to Magicians and Sorcerors)

A Dutch agent has identified a spy within the English offices in Bombay.
His last message said he wanted to meet in the Khyber pass, soon to be visited by Mountstuart Elphinstone. This provides the perfect cover for a group of British and allied agents to break off from Elphinstone's party and meet the agent with money for his information.
Back in a day or so, surely?

Character Ideas:
both Company and British Army soldiers.
Spy's.
Occultists
Naturalists
Explorers

A Dark Country....

An event set in the dark days of Roman occupation of Britian

Somewhere in the early years of Vespasians ascension to Emperor, in a small corner of Britian a minor situation has come up:

One of the silver and lead "investments" that Rome have an interest in on the western border has radically dropped in output.
The mine owners have claimed that this is because the mine is slowly being tapped out but Rome has decided to tap the local Procurator and put together a scratch team to investigate. With the political situation in such turmoil after the year of the four emperors’ and the legions close to the mine in suspect, the local fort is being kept out of the loop.
Tread carefully.

This is an event of espionage and investigation.

Character idea's include:
Political informers.
Retired legionaries/axillaries
Local guides/bodyguards
Geologists

So, what has been happening?

Well, I have been approached to do some pieces at an event for the public called "Festival in the Shire", looks like being a lot of fun.

I have an event for tomorow, which is going to be epic, just a day event, but for a really nice bunch.

St. Briavels has sent me the bill. Need more people! However the folk we have are awesome! Some really interesting characters.

Lastly, I am quite excited that I have been making the IC reference sheets for peoples characters, placing wax seals on to show which plot notes you can open so you can follow the plot no matter if there is a ref there or not, and since they may be hidden there is a hard skill involved in finding them.

It was a first attempt, but I think it went well!

Have fun folks!

Well this is successfull.

I have been sourcing sealing wax so that at the FairyTales events (Hopefully for the day event, certainly for St. Briavels) we will be able to provide sealed "clue notes" with the skill needed to open them designated by the colour of the wax.

I think its nice, IC, stops me having to be EVERYWHERE and should look good.

Sourcing of costume and kit continues apace. Ideas greatly appreciated.

Well, its confirmed, St. Briavels is deffinetly ours.

Frankly it buetifull. We seem to have crew coming out of the woodwork, which is fantastic and at least one trader is jumping in.

Also, with the day events being asked for (which we where frankly not expecting) we have a whole new direction to go in.

Sourcing of costume etc. is coming along apace and some good experiance and lessons learnt from Crewing ScurvyScum (it was nice to run into the folk of the Crimson Moon again. Always lovely!)

I hope we shall see you all in September, if not before!
